BOOKING & CANCELLATION POLICY

Booking Policy:

  • A deposit of 50% of the total booking amount is required to secure the dates.

  • The booking quote will be held for three days. If the deposit is not received within this period, the dates will be released.

  • For new customers, a "meet & greet" meeting with you and your dog(s) will be arranged prior to booking acceptance. This meeting needs to take place at Doug's Dugs within 10 days of the booking being made, during which time the requested dates will be held. Failure to complete this will result in the booking being cancelled and any deposit refunded in full.

  • The full balance of the booking must be settled by the day prior to the start date of the booking. Failure to complete the payment within this time period may result in the cancellation of your booking without a refund of any deposits or prior payments made.


Boarding Cancellation Policy:

  • Cancellation more than 14 days prior to booking start date: Customers will receive a full refund of the deposit paid.

  • Cancellation within 14 days of the booking start date: A cancellation fee of 50% of the total booking amount will apply.

  • Cancellation on the booking start date or thereafter: No refunds will be issued.

Day Care Cancellation Policy:

  • Free cancellation until 8:00 AM the day before the booking start date: Customers will receive a 100% refund.

  • Cancellation after 8:00 AM the day before the booking start date: No refunds will be issued, and the full booking amount will be charged.

Cancellation of our services

  • If Doug’s Dugs is unable to provide the service agreed due to  an emergency situation, we will do our best to make alternative care arrangements, except in extreme, unforeseen circumstances where we will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible.  We will provide a refund of the remaining portion of any stay or if it is prior to the booking commencing, we will provide a full refund.
     

IMPORTANT 

We will ask you to complete a form after your booking is confirmed. This is to comply with the terms of our Council Home Boarding License and will include the information below. The form can be viewed here but please do not submit it until we've had a meet and greet.

 

Please note we do not accept unneutered dogs.

Vaccinations & Health

  • All dogs must be up to date with their vaccinations and you must provide a copy of your dog’s valid vaccination record prior to boarding. This should cover 

    • parvovirus, 

    • distemper, 

    • hepatitis

    • Leptospirosis. 

    • If you routinely get your dog covered for kennel cough, confirmation of this should also be provided, but it is not a requirement of our licence. 

 

  • All dogs must be on regular worming, tick and flea treatments. In the event of tick or flea infestation your dog will be treated and you agree to reimburse any costs.

 

  • Dogs must be in good general health and show no signs of contagious illness on the arrival date.

Medications

  • Any medications will be administered strictly as directed but we cannot be held responsible for any complications that may arise as a result.

 

Emergency Contact

  • You must provide the name and contact number of someone authorised to make a decision on your behalf about your dog in an emergency, in the event we are unable to make contact with you first. 

 

Vet

  • We will always endeavour to take your dog to its usual vet, however, depending on the circumstances and location, we may need to go to our local vet which is Abbey Veterinary Group, 71 Canal Street, Paisley, PA1 2HP  particularly if this is an emergency or out of hours.

 

  • You agree that you are responsible for any veterinary fees, transport costs and any excess payments, incurred during the stay and these must be reimbursed when you collect your dog at the end of the stay.

 

  • While your dog is in our care, you authorise Doug's Dugs to take all decisions, with guidance from a veterinary professional, regarding your dog's medical treatment, including surgery, euthanasia, etc.  You will need to sign consent to confirm this.

EMERGENCIES

If due to any issues we can't keep your dog we will refund the remaining part of the stay that hasn’t been fulfilled.

 

We will aim to be with your dog for the entire time of their stay. At times, according to our Council Home Boarding License, we might have to leave them alone for a period of time up to 3 hours.

 

If your dog needs to be seen by a vet for an illness, we will get in touch with you or your emergency contact to arrange an appointment and transport.

 

If your dog suffers an accident while in our care, or needs an emergency out-of-hours vet, we will take them to our own vet (detailed in the section above). 

 

If we need to arrange transport in order to obtain your dogs medical care, you accept to cover all cost that Doug's Dugs will incur (mileage,  fuel, etc.). You agree to be held solely responsible for all costs associated with the care of your dog's injury. This includes, but is not limited to, veterinary fees, medication costs, and any insurance excess payments.

You agree to reimburse Doug's Dugs for any expenses, costs, or charges incurred on your behalf within 7 calendar days from the date of the reimbursement request or invoice.  

 

We will try our best to get in touch with you about your dog's health and emergency medical treatment required.

INSURANCE & LICENSE

  • Our £1m Public Liability insurance is with Protectivity and details of the policy schedule can be seen on request. We also recommend that your dog has its own insurance for sickness, accident or injury and for third party liability prior to boarding. 

  • We are licensed for home dog boarding and day care by Renfrewshire Council and a copy of the license can be seen on request.
